The victory of Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the 2018 presidential elections, the result of majority support for his message of transformation of the country, placed the new president and the political movement that accompanied him before the need to promote reforms that affect the core of the corporate political system that has prevailed for eight decades in Mexico. The labour reform of 2019 was the new government’s biggest gamble in this regard. More than three years after its approval, this article explores the results obtained and the potential and limits that the 4T has shown in terms of the transformation of neo-corporatism.
