Identitary Strategies for Ethnic Resistance in indigenous organizations

Abstract

The new democratic era for Argentina that began in 1983, restated the traditional "Aboriginal question" under the concepts of "historical reparation" "appreciation of their cultural heritage" and "the right to self determination."  In this way, aimed at promoting the integral development of indigenous communities through self-management practices and institutional participation policies. This paper aims to analyse ethnic resistance of the Qom people inhabiting the territory of the province of Chaco, and their strategies to support the ancestral ways of organization and leadership.
