La universidad latinoamericana ante el avance científico y técnico : algunas reflexiones

Abstract

The problems posed to the University in the face of scientific and technical progress can only be properly understood within the framework of the region's underdevelopment process; at the same time, both the university institution and the modernization process are fundamental elements of the interpretation of the underdevelopment process as well as of the policies and strategies to overcome it. Based on these two central perspectives, some questions are raised in a preliminary and exploratory way to which not enough attention has been paid, questions such as to what extent the precarious benefits of technology transfer may be due to the shaping of the economy and the underdeveloped society to which they are transferred, as well as to nature itself that adopts the process of technology transfer.
